Fire can have critical consequences for human society due to the damage it causes to buildings and infrastructure. A large number of people lose their lives or become seriously injured as a result of fires. Studies indicate that large fires have occurred in buildings / Industrial settings with no or substandard fire alarm systems. Surveys conducted also indicate that at least 75% of fires are preventable. According to the some studies , there is a fire in a residential area every 85 seconds and these fires account for almost 80 percent of all fire related deaths.
It is imperative to increase knowledge of fire prevention and control and to combat fires in buildings, Infrastructure and Industrial settings.
